WACHTL & BLEYER GIRAFFE GRAND, VIENNA, 1815

Joseph Wachtl, Jacob Bleyer and Martin Seuffert worked together to invent this graceful piano design. When they started arguing about the invention, they all founded their own company around 1811. Although the cabinets were always very beautiful, the main goal was to achieve a nice sound, a solid construction and a stable tone. To complete this invention, they developed a hanging Viennese action.
