BECHSTEIN MOOR DUPLEX-COUPLER GRAND PIANO, BERLIN, 1930

This extremely special and rare Duplex-Coupler grand piano was invented by the Hungarian pianist and composer Emmanuel Moor in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The two keyboards are a 8’ and a 4’. The upper keyboard sounds an octave higher then the lower one.

Both manuals can be coupled. His invention quickly gained interest and appreciation among leading piano builders such as Pleyel, Bechstein, Bösendorfer and Steinway. Nevertheless, only about 60 instruments were made.
